Anatomia Amoris

I would tell you that he changed my way of life

I would tell you that he filled my heart with cursive blood

I would tell you he built the calcium in my bones over the way he encouraged my faith

I would tell you he looked at me like every atom in my body was pure

He loved me kinder than anyone had loved me before

He showed me the mind of someone who will continuously be in love with curiosity

He studied me like I was the girl he had made in his own imagination

He felt me like I was something made of pink matter

I would tell you that I carry a piece of his mind in the back of my brain, perked on my hippocampus like he formed a piece of my conscious

I would tell you that my mind rests from the thought of him

I would tell you that I fall asleep at night with him warming the parts of me I have newly understood

I would tell you that I did not know the anatomy of love until I met him

He was different than any love I will ever see to have or see to feel

I would tell you that it was he who taught me that to be in love is to love with the mind, body, and soul

I know the anatomy of love
